Lotus 30/L/11 was the first customer chassis sold in the UK. The car was taken straight into the 1964 Sprinkbok Series in South Africa. The car reputedly needed a new chassis upon it’s return to the UK.
Chassis was replaced by 30/L/20. Doug Nye speculated that it was replaced to a Series 2 spec car in place of the original Series 1. [1]Nye, Doug “Beautiful Miscalculation.” Old Motor. October 1981: p. 41
